# Use cases: Get back to your work without starting over > Source: https://www.joinrecall.com/use-cases > Five example workdays, from coding agents to back-to-back calls and teaching. Each shows your note, what reopens in one click, and where Recall stops. After a break, or when you press ⌥⌘R, the Recall Mac app shows where you left off and exactly what reopens. One click brings it back. ## Pick where to start Each page follows one made-up workday and says what Recall does not do. - [Developers](https://www.joinrecall.com/use-cases/developers): Find the session waiting on you. See which Claude Code or Codex session waits on you, then get that exact chat back in one click. For: developers who run several Claude Code or Codex sessions and lose track of which one is waiting. - [Founders and consultants](https://www.joinrecall.com/use-cases/founders): Keep your place across calls and clients. Leave one line before a call. After it, ⌥⌘R shows that line, and the tab you were on is one click away. For: founders, consultants and freelancers who move between customers, investors and clients. - [Product and ops](https://www.joinrecall.com/use-cases/product-and-ops): Send what you said you would. Stay reachable in Slack and Telegram, and keep what colleagues and clients ask for on one list. For: product managers and ops leads who work across many apps and are the one who keeps track of which message is current. - [Teaching and research](https://www.joinrecall.com/use-cases/teaching-and-research): Get back into a draft days later. Between classes, your own note says what the draft needed, and Return reopens its browser tab. For: lecturers, researchers and students who go back to unfinished writing or lesson prep days later. - [Recall and ADHD](https://www.joinrecall.com/use-cases/adhd): See your own note when you sit back down. A productivity tool, not a treatment, and not studied for ADHD. It lists what will reopen after you step away and lose the thread. For: people with ADHD who want to know exactly what Recall does and does not do. ## What stays the same, whatever your work ### Your note first, then what reopens Before you switch away, press ⌥⌘B and type where you stopped. After a break, Smart Return shows that line first and lists what one click brings back, and nothing opens until you click. A browser returns the tab you were on. Slack and many other apps open, and you pick the channel or file. ### What is on your screen stays on your Mac Recall Core, our own model, runs on your Mac. It reads the screen about every 15 seconds and discards the image, and it uses no microphone, camera, keystrokes or clipboard. Usage analytics and crash reports are on by default, never carry anything from your screen, and one switch turns them off. Diagnostics sharing is off by default. ### Your first return comes tomorrow Within the hour you see your first threads: related tabs, files and chats grouped under one name. Tonight your whole day is on the Today page. Smart Return comes tomorrow, after a break. It needs macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon (M1 or newer) and Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions, and setup asks before downloading Recall Core, about 1.9 GB. ## Links - Smart Return: https://www.joinrecall.com/smart-return - How Recall works: https://www.joinrecall.com/how-it-works - AI agents: https://www.joinrecall.com/ai-agents-mcp - Docs: https://www.joinrecall.com/docs - Roadmap: https://www.joinrecall.com/roadmap - Pricing: https://www.joinrecall.com/pricing - Trust Center: https://www.joinrecall.com/trust - Site overview for AI agents: https://www.joinrecall.com/llms.txt
