# Recall Roadmap > Source: https://www.joinrecall.com/roadmap > What Recall is building now, what comes next, and what is still being explored, grouped by status instead of dates. Statuses instead of dates. An item moves when the work moves, and exploring means we have not committed to it yet. Every release so far is on the What's new page. Platform: macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon (M1 or newer). Windows is in active development. ## Now In active development. - **Lighter on memory.** Recall already uses half the memory it did. We keep trimming, with smarter model tiering and a leaner analysis pipeline. - **Sharper returns.** Every app should reopen the exact file, page or channel, front and focused, first click. Browser tabs, Xcode files, Obsidian notes and agent chats already come back exactly. Figma, Slack and the rest open the app for now. Returns that show what they open shipped in 0.43. - **Ask your past work.** A first version is built and being tuned: ask in plain words what you worked on in a day, a week or a month, or about one subject or person, and get an answer drawn from your own threads and notes, made on your Mac. Today's search box already finds threads by name, summary, or note. - **Smarter drift detection.** Fewer wrong nudges and better catches, including the long YouTube hole and "you typed it but never sent it". Smarter drift reminders shipped in 0.41. ## Next Designed and queued behind what is in Now. - **App skills.** Figma files, Photoshop projects and Miro boards already show up as real projects once you return to them. Next, Recall learns the shape of the specific apps you use, so context in your niche tools is understood as well as in the common ones. - **Notes, evolved.** You can already leave a note on the thread you are in or on a whole project with Option-Command-B and find every one in Loops, under Notes. Next: one fast window with open tasks and notes together, the option to speak a note instead of typing it, and Recall's own suggestions beside your note when you return. - **Teach Recall: mark it wrong.** Corrections already stick, and you can mark work done from Smart Return, Today and Loops. Next: thumbs-down a bad label wherever you see it, so every signal makes your Recall smarter. - **The work you delegate, remembered too.** More of your work runs without you now. Claude Code and Codex sessions shipped in 0.43: Recall shows the ones waiting on you and lets a finished one close its loop. Next: the rest of the work that runs while you are elsewhere, a render, an export, a long upload, tied to the right project and noticed when it finishes. - **Role playbooks.** The docs explain every screen. Next: playbooks for how people in different roles, from designers and developers to support and founders, get the most out of Recall from day one. - **Your data, exportable.** One-click export of your entire local history in open formats. It is your work, so you should be able to take it anywhere. - **Weekly review.** A calm summary of where your attention actually went: patterns, threads you dropped, and what is still open. ## Exploring Direction, not commitment. We would rather say exploring than promise dates. - **Memory for your AI tools (API and MCP).** Let Claude and other agents draw on your work context, read-only, with your permission. - **Deeper integrations: task managers and browser.** Two-way where it helps: when your board says a task moved, the thread closes, and when you finish the work, the card can check itself off. Trello, ClickUp, Jira and friends, plus a browser companion for tab-heavy work. - **Recall on more than one Mac.** Move your history between machines yourself. No cloud required. - **Windows.** It's coming when the Mac experience fully meets our bar. Join the waitlist and we will email you the day it's ready. - **Cloud sync, only with end-to-end encryption.** If your history ever syncs, it will be encrypted so that we cannot read it. That design comes first, or it does not happen. - **Model choice: bring your own.** Recall runs its own model, Recall Core v1.1, on your Mac. Still exploring: bring-your-own-key for people who want cloud-grade quality on their own terms. Local stays the default. - **Recall that adapts to you.** Your role and your patterns shape when Recall speaks up and what it offers first: support tuned to how you actually work, not a preset. - **Time reports for invoices.** The tray and Today already show active time per project. Still exploring: clean reports from those hours for freelancers and invoices, with no start and stop buttons and no pomodoro junk. - **Independent verification.** A third-party security audit of how Recall reads your screen, published in the Trust Center, and an Apple-reviewed App Store listing. - **Mobile companion.** A read-only window into your day from your phone. Your history stays on the Mac. ## Recently shipped The highlights of the last two releases, newest first. Every release is on What's new: https://www.joinrecall.com/whats-new - **Docs for every part of the app (October 2026).** A guide to every screen at /docs: what each element does, what it is for, and how to use it well, from setup to Settings. - **Returns that show what they open (0.43).** Smart Return is one card with your note and exactly what Return will reopen, then one click. Every other way back, from the tray, Loops or a thread page, lists the apps, tabs, files and chats it will reopen, ticked, before anything opens. - **Coding agents that wait on you (0.43).** Claude Code and Codex sessions that need your approval, or have finished, show up in the tray, Loops and Smart Return with one click to the session. A return brings back the agent chat you had open. - **Answers inside the app (0.43).** Send Feedback… is now a conversation. Our reply comes back with a notification and a dot on the tray, and you write back from the same window. - **Loops as lists, and Move to project (0.43).** Waiting, People, Agents, Notes and one list per project, like Reminders. One Move to project… picker everywhere, and Recall learns from every move. - **The tray is your day, Today is a timeline (0.43).** Active time, the split by project and what is waiting on you, in the menu bar, up to six days back. Today in the main window is a timeline, one lane per project. Time away from your Mac never counts. - **Quieter by design (0.43).** Recall speaks up in three cases only, on one small card: you drifted, you still owe someone an answer, or a coding agent has waited five minutes for your approval (with the optional hooks on). An agent that is merely waiting never nags. - **Recall Core, our own model (0.42, v1.1 in 0.43).** Trained by us to read a screen and tell what you are working on, and it runs entirely on your Mac. Recall Core v1 in Recall 0.42.0 named threads right 88% of the time instead of 56%, against the previous release, on the same screens and the same Macs. Recall 0.43 brings v1.1, trained on more real work. - **Tasks from your chats (0.42).** When someone asks you for something in Slack, Teams, Telegram, WhatsApp or Mail, or you reply that you will do it, Recall keeps it as a task in Loops and brings it back on your next Smart Return. - **Notes, Option-Command-B (0.42).** Leave yourself one line on the thread you are in, or on a whole project, before you get pulled away. Smart Return shows it first when you are back, and Loops keeps every note in its Notes list. Notes are never erased, only archived. ## Asking for something Want something that isn't here? Choose Send Feedback… from the ⋯ menu in Recall's menu bar tray, then Suggest a feature, and we answer you there. Or post in either community room.
